The Westerby Group is sponsoring a summer garden party in aid of a local hospice at the home of Sir David Samworth, Life President of Samworth Brothers.

The exclusive event, to be held on Sunday 17 June, will raise money for the LOROS Hospice, a charity which cares for more than 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland every year.

LOROS Fundraising Manager, Laura Betts, and Partnership Development Lead, Magda Korytkowska, met Westerby Group Chairman Les McLintic and Managing Director Steve Harvey, to discuss the exclusive event where guests will enjoy a fabulous buffet lunch, at the invitation of Sir David and his wife Lady Samworth.

Laura Betts, Fundraising Manager at LOROS said: “We are very excited about this wonderful opportunity to work alongside Les, Steve and all of the team at the Westerby Group. Their generous support of The LOROS Garden Party is so greatly appreciated and will only enhance what we know will be a super day! Events like the Garden Party contribute greatly in helping us to secure the vital funds needed to continue providing our unique care services.”

The Westerby Group includes Westerby Investment Management that provides specialist financial and independent investment advice, and Westerby The Pension Specialist; specialist providers of trusteeship and administration services for Small Self Administered Schemes (SSAS) and Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPP).

Westerby Group Chairman, Les McLintic, said: “Westerby’s are proud to sponsor LOROS and their invaluable work providing compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their family and carers. Staff at Westerby’s have experience of the wonderful support and care that LOROS has provided for members of their family or friends and are proud to be associated with this excellent charity.”

Each year LOROS needs to raise over £5million pounds and strives to create long lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships with local companies. Laura said: “It feels great to be able to offer unique experiences that present excellent opportunities for local businesses with the overall aim of providing care and support to the people living within our community, it’s a win for both Westerby and LOROS!”
